The theme of the route: visiting old places of worship built with fortification systems.

            Since medieval times, fortified churches have been key points for the Transylvanian area. At the entrance to the town, we are greeted by the fortresses of the old churches, a sign that religion has been present among the people who have lived here since the beginning.

            Religion has always been a driving force behind the most iconic masterpieces around the world. This fact has not bypassed Cluj, on the contrary, it has helped the entire county to develop in an architecturally stunning way.

            Travelling through the walls of the churches helps you understand the evolution of ecumenical art because, although you are greeted by cold stone walls, inside you find the warmth of the murals and even the gentleness of the faces of the saints represented by statuettes and iconography.
