The Mineralogy Museum is located in the main building of BabeÈ™-Bolyai University. The museum currently has 16,500 exhibits in its patrimony: 12,500 minerals, 3,700 processed gems and over 200 meteorites. The permanent exhibition is organized in a space of 126 square meters and has a number of 8000 exhibits.

Among the peculiarities that give a unique character to this museum we can mention:

  • The only actual collection of meteorites in Romania
  • One of the richest and most varied gold collections in Romania
  • The most spectacular and diversified exhibition of precious and finely processed stones
  • The richest and most complete collection of ornaments in Romania
  • The largest number of mineral species in a systematic collection in Romanian museums
  • The great variety of cities with mineralogical importance represented, from the country and abroad
